Q. Will ShopRite Pharmacy be administering COVID-19 booster shots?
A. Yes. Pursuant to CDC approval, ShopRite Pharmacy will be administering booster doses of authorized COVID-19 vaccines for specific eligible patient groups, as outlined by the FDA and CDC. 

Q. What booster will ShopRite Pharmacy administer?
A. As of September 24, 2021, ShopRite Pharmacy will administer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster doses only to specific patient populations six months after they have completed a two-dose series of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.

Q. Who is currently eligible to receive booster shots?
A. As of September 24, 2021, only individuals in the following patient groups who have previously received a two-dose series of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for booster shots, pending formal CDC approval.

• Individuals aged 65 and older.
• Individuals in long-term care facilities.
• Individuals aged 50-64 with underlying medical conditions (click here for the list).
• Individuals 18-64 with underlying medical conditions based on individual risk versus benefits (click here for the list).
• Patients 18 to 64 years of age who are healthcare/essential workers or in occupations that present increased risk of COVID-19 exposure.

Q. I am in a patient group approved for the booster. When can I receive it?
A. Individuals in a patient group approved by the CDC may receive the booster dose no sooner than six months after they completed a two-dose series of only the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Q. I am in a patient group approved for the booster but did not initially receive the Pfizer vaccine. Can I still get a booster shot?
A. As of September 24, 2021, we are administering Pfizer COVID-19 boosters only to individuals in CDC-approved patient groups who have completed a two-dose series of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals who initially received the Moderna or Janssen (J&J) vaccine are currently ineligible for booster shots.

Q. Do I need to make an appointment for my booster shot or can I just walk up
A. As of September 24, 2021, ShopRite Pharmacies are accepting walk-ups to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 booster shot. You can also schedule an appointment at Vaccines.ShopRite.com. 

Q. What kind of documentation do I need to bring to the Pharmacy to receive a booster shot
A. If you are in an approved patient group, please bring a photo ID and your COVID-19 Vaccine Card to the Pharmacy to receive your booster shot.
